Was für ein Mega-Abend in Los Angeles. Die deutschen Jungs von Tokio Hotel haben bei den amerikanischen MTV Music Video Awards eine Auszeichnung als „Beste neuer Künstler“ gewonnen. Liegt ihnen bald ganz Amerika zu Füßen? Und Britney Spears sahnte drei Preise ab, feierte ein gelungenes Comeback. BILD.de-Kolumnist Alex von Roon war für Sie vor Ort!

Partytime in Los Angeles. Die 25. Video Music Awards von MTV. Diesmal auf dem Gelände der weltberühmten Paramount Studios in Hollywood. Hier spazierten schon Charles Bronson und Marilyn Monroe durch die Film-Fassaden. Heute darf ich hier sein. Und ich warte zusammen mit Tausenden schwitzenden Fans und Kollegen (rund 30 Grad Celsius in L.A.!) auf die Stars und Sternchen. Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Michael Phelps – und Tokio Hotel.

Die Jungs aus Magdeburg sind für gleich zwei Preise nominiert. Nach ihrem gelungenen Einstand in Amerika (die gerade abgeschlossene US-Tour war ein echter Überraschungserfolg) warten alle gespannt auf die „Jermaens“. Und dann kommen sie. Und wie. Mit einem Monster-Truck lässt sich die Band zum roten Teppich vorfahren.

Wie eine Piratenfahne weht das Tokio-Hotel-Emblem am Truck. Bill und die anderen Jungs stehen auf der Ladefläche. Cooler Auftritt, der auch bei den Fans prima ankommt.

Die internationale Presse drängt sich um Interviews mit Tokio Hotel. Bill Kaulitz zum plötzlichen Erfolg in Amerika: „Wir reißen uns den Arsch auf, und wir sind überglücklich, dass die Fans uns auch hier in den USA annehmen.“ Und dann, als die Band schnell weitergezerrt wird, noch ein schnelles: „Hey, wir stehen erst am Anfang, wir legen erst noch richtig los!“

Wenig später die Bestätigung. Tokio Hotel gewinnt in der Kategorie „Best New Artist“ und sticht damit immerhin Amerikas neuen Megastar Miley Cyrus aus.

Bill Kaulitz in mittlerweile lupenreinem Englisch: „Wir möchten uns bei unseren Fans bedanken. Wir haben die besten Anhänger der Welt.“

Ein weiterer Siedepunkt im Karrierehoch des neuen deutschen Export-Schlagers. „Mit diesem Gewinn hat sich die deutsche Kapelle endgültig im US-Markt manifestiert“, glaubt auch Musikproduzent Russell Simmons.

Voller Spannung erwartet wurde der Auftritt von Britney Spears. Würde sie nach ihrem Psychokollaps Anfang des Jahres das Comeback schaffen? Sie schaffte es! Die Sängerin eröffnete mit einem Sketch nicht nur die Show, Britney gewann auch drei Preise – darunter für das „Video des Jahres“ (für ihren Song „Piece of Me“). Eine gelungene Rückkehr auf die Showbühne!

Ihre Popstar-Kollegin Christina Aguilera trat ebenfalls auf, legte eine klasse Performance hin – und sang sich nach langer Babypause sofort wieder in die Herzen der Fans zurück.

Nach zwei Stunden war alles vorbei. Aber auf der Aftershow-Party unter dem Sternenhimmel der Paramount Studios ging es dann noch einmal so richtig rund.

Mitten drin: die Jungs von Tokio Hotel – umringt von der internationalen Prominenz. Links nuckelte Kid Rock an einer Pulle Bier, rechts saß Teenie-Star Miley Cyrus zusammen mit Christina Aguilera auf einem Sofa.

Sicher ist: Mit diesem Erfolg dürften die Magdeburger ihrem Ziel, endlich den Durchbruch im Land der unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten zu schaffen, einen gewaltigen Schritt näher gekommen sein.,

What an awesome night in Los Angeles. The German boys of Tokio Hotel have won the award for “Best new artist” at the American MTV Video Music awards. Is now all of America at their feet? And Britney Spears who won 3 awards is celebrating a successful comeback. Bild.de columnist Alex von Roon was there for you!

Party time in Los Angeles. The 25th Video Music Awards of MTV. This time from the world famous Paramount Studios in Hollywood. This is where Charles Bronson and Marilyn Monroe have walked through film facades. Now I am allowed to be here. Here I am waiting together with thousand of sweaty fans and colleges [In about 30˚C in LA] for the stars such as Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Michael Phelps – and Tokio Hotel.

The boys from Magdeburg are already nominated for two awards. After a succesful stand in America [The just completed US tour was a real surprise success], everyone is waiting anxiously for the “Jermaens”. And then they arrive. And how they do. The band let themselves get driven to the red carpet in a monster truck.

Just like a pirate flag waving in the wind was the Tokio Hotel logo shining on the truck. Bill and the other boys are standing on the loading space. A cool entrance that was much liked by the fans.

The international press is fighting for an interview with Tokio Hotel. Bill Kaulitz about their sudden success: “We’re busting our asses off, and we are incredibly happy that the fans here in the USA have accepted us as well”, and then when the band is quickly tugged away, a quick: “Hey, we’re still at the beginning, we’re only just getting started!”

Not long after that, it’s confirmed. Tokio Hotel wins in the Category “Best New Artist” and with that beating America’s megastar Miley Cyrus.

Bill Kaulitz in now perfect English: “We want to thank our fans. We have the best fans in the world.”

A new highlight in the career of the German export. “With this benefit, the German scene has completely set a foot in the US market”, believes music producer Russell Simmons.

Everyone waited with big excitement for the appearance of Britney Spears. Will she make her comeback after the physical breakdown at the beginning of this year? She made it! She didn’t only open the show with a sketch but also won 3 awards – including the one for “Video of the year” [for the song “Piece of me”]. A big comeback in the showbiz scene.

Her pop star college Christina Aguilera also kicked off with a perfect performance – and sang herself back in the hearts of fans after a long baby break.

After two hours everything was over. But beneath the sky with stars of the Paramount Studio, the after show party went round. In the middle: the guys of Tokio Hotel - surrounded by international celebrities. Left Kid Rock suckling on his bottle of beer, right teenie-star Miley Cyrus together with Christina Aguilera on a sofa.

One thing is certain: With this victory, the four Magdeburgers are one step closer to their breakthrough in the country of the unlimited possibilities.
