Kaum zu glauben: Tokio Hotel wurden von der britischen Musikzeitschrift New Musical Express (NME) als „schlechteste Band“ nominiert!
Letztes Jahr waren die Magdeburger Jungs unser Pop-Export Nummer eins und wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Es regnete MTV Awards in Los Angeles, Mexico und Liverpool, die Fan-Gemeinde wuchs über den ganzen Globus. Und jetzt das!
Am 25. Februar sollen die „NME-Awards“ in England vergeben werden. Solange dürfen die Leser wählen. Tokio Hotel sind in einer Kategorie mit Fall Out Boy, The Jonas Brothers und Oasis.
Das merkwürdige bei der Award-Nominierung: Oasis ist neben „schlechteste Band“ ebenfalls als „Beste Live-Band“ und Frontmann Noel Gallagher sogar als „Held des Jahres“ nominiert. Anscheinend gilt: Wer Erfolg hat, erntet eben auch Ablehnung.
Die deutschen Fans sind sich auf jeden Fall sicher: Tokio Hotel sind unsere Helden.
2008 waren sie die Abräumer des Jahres, kein Zweifel!

Hard to believe: Tokio Hotel are nominated by british music magazine New Musical Express (NME) as "Worst band"!
Last year the four Magdeburger boys were export number one and had mutiple victories. It was raining MTV Awards in los Angeles, Mexico and Liverpool, the fan base grew over the whole world.
And now this!
On 25 Februari the NME Awards will be given out in England. Till then the readers can vote. Tokio Hotel are in one category with Fall Out Boy, The Jonas Brothers and Oasis.
The weird thing about the award nominations: Oasis is besides "Worst Band" also nominated for "Best Live Band" and lead singer Noel Gallagher as"Hero of the year". What we can conclude is: Those who have succes also will get rejection.
The German fans know for sure: Tokio Hotel are our heroes.
2008 they were the winners of the year, no doubt!

Tokio Hotel working on 'Dark' Anthems for next album

It's been awhile since the production trio known as the Matrix worked on such a highly anticipated album. But that will change this spring when Tokio Hotel release the follow-up to their English language breakthrough album, Scream. The yet-untitled album is being co-produced by the pop songwriters/producers best known for their work with Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Korn.
"We're in the middle of working on the Tokio Hotel record right now," Matrix member Lauren Christy said Tuesday, the same day the collective's long-lost album featuring a then-unknown singer by the name of Katy Perry dropped on iTunes. "We've done eight songs for that record ... and I love the singer's voice and the fact that they play their own instruments. They're a real band, and they're very dark. They're this almost-perfect, gorgeous-looking band but with music that's very dark."
So far, Christy said the German group has laid down tracks at two different Los Angeles studios with the Matrix and with their own in-house production team over the past few months, with a mix that includes very "strong, anthem-y" songs with a dark edge and "lots of guitars."
Fellow Matrix producer Scott Spock said the sessions have been one of the most exciting and enjoyable of his career. "We've worked with so many different people, and when you get into a room where magic just starts happening ... it makes everything really fun," he said, comparing the spark to the one he felt working with Lavigne and Korn. "It's the same experience with Tokio Hotel. ... They are all really talented and can write and play, and they're the real deal."
Spock said he can't recall the last time he worked with a singer who had as much star quality as TH leader Bill Kaulitz. "The music business really needs Tokio Hotel right now," Spock said. "They're reviving that image of what a rock star is. ... Their writing has developed massively, and we're experimenting a bit with some Depeche Mode influence. ... It doesn't sound like anything else out there right now. People don't want to hear a bunch of 808s and Auto-Tuned vocals. They want the real stuff."
Christy added that one of the other things she's grown to love about the rockers is their strong sense of identity, one that seems impervious to the Matrix's tendency toward a big, bright pop sound. "The band is so aware of what they are, and when you have an artist that's that strong, you can't pull them and homogenize them and make them sound like they're not. They're very opinionated about what they want."
That strong sense of self has made it easier to work with the guys as they try to introduce some more American rock styles to their sound, Spock said, while working hard not to lose that unique essence that has made them worldwide stars already. "The push and pull between the camps has been great," he said. "And I think the album will be great because of that. I'm going to look back on this in 10 years and say, 'Wow, I worked with Tokio Hotel!' "
Christy said TH came to the Matrix because they really liked the ballad they'd co-written with Avril Lavigne, "I'm With You," as well as their production on Korn's See You on the Other Side album.
"They like the sadness of that song and were really touched by it," she said of the Lavigne tune. "They like the Korn records too, but they said, 'We wouldn't do that, but it's really good. But it's not truthful to us as a band.' " So far, the Matrix have been co-writing all the songs they've worked on with TH for the album, and at press time, Scott said they had completed work on six of those tunes.
The album is tentatively due in late spring, according to Christy; a spokesperson for TH's label could not be reached for comment at press time. "Their confidence in knowing exactly who they are and what they're doing, given how youthful they are, is amazing," Spock said. "They definitely bring the dark side of the pop song, not like a Lamb of God record but with rock influences that will cross over to so many different kids ... and even some adults."
In addition to the TH album, Christy said the Matrix have been grinding away on Korn singer Jonathan Davis' solo debut, an album by "iCarly" star Miranda Cosgrove, the next Ashley Tisdale CD and the soundtrack to the rebooted "Fame."

Tokio Hotel arbeiten am 2. Album für Amerika
Nächsten Frühjahr ist es soweit: Das zweite englisch-sprachige Album von Tokio Hotel soll in Amerika veröffentlicht werden!
Für diese Veröffentlichung arbeiten Bill & Co. zur Zeit mit dem Produzententeam "Matrix" zusammen. Die haben bereits mit Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera und Britney Spears gearbeitet. Von Tokio Hotel sind sie aber besonders begeistert. Scott Spock, einer der Produzenten, sagte in einem Interview mit "MTV": "Das Musik-Business in Amerika braucht Tokio Hotel jetzt sehr. Sie lassen das Image von echten Rock-Stars wieder aufleben. . . So hört sich zur Zeit niemand sonst an!"
Besonders Bill hat es dem Produzenten angetan. So sagt Scott Spock, dass er sich nicht erinnern könne, jemals mit einem Star zusammen gearbeitet zu haben, der so viele Star-Qualitäten hat, wie Tokio Hotel Frontman Bill.
Das Album hat noch keinen Namen, dennoch weiß Scott schon jetzt, was es für eine Ehre ist, mit den Jungs zu arbeiten. "Das Album wird super . . . In 10 Jahren werde ich zurück gucken und sagen ' Wow, ich habe mit Tokio Hotel gearbeitet'!"

Bill Kaulitz Talks about Tokio Hotel's New Album

'We've kept the same crew. Our new album will probably surprise a lot of people and I hope the fans will love it,' Bill Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel says when talking about the band's next LP.
During an interview with Dream Up Magazine, Tokio Hotel's frontman Bill Kaulitz opens up about the band's upcoming third studio album, which is expected to arrive in stores next spring. "It was a very intense and creative period but at the same time, it offered a much needed break for the band," so he begins.
"There are a lot of new influences that until now, have not been heard in the sound of Tokio Hotel," Bill explains further. "Even so, we've kept the same crew. Our new album will probably surprise a lot of people and I hope the fans will love it."
On what kind of songs they have been crafting for the record, Bill shares the tracks mostly deal with their lives after the band claimed their fame through 2007 LP "Scream". He reveals, "They handle about our mood, new thoughts and reflections, and also new wishes and hopes."
"We have a song but there are many different ways to interpret the song. And we have to find the best interpretation," Bill shares more. "We, then start to experiment with each song by changing the guitar-sounds or modifying my voice."

Deutschland gehört zu den größten Musikmärkten der Welt, nach Angaben des Musikexport-Büros in Lüneburg setzte die Branche 2006 1,7 Milliarden Euro um. Wir Deutschen mögen die Bands und Künstler aus unserem Land, jenseits der Grenzen aber nimmt deren Beliebtheit deutlich ab. Im Ausland durchsetzen können sich oft solche Musiker, die sich vom Mainstream abheben, die nicht versuchen, englischsprachige Künstler zu kopieren, und deren Songs Ecken und Kanten haben. Die vier Musiker sind so erfolgreich, dass sie von einer Preisverleihung zur nächsten pilgern. Comet, Echo, Bambi, Eins Live Krone werden nur noch übertrumpft von einem internationalen MTV-Award, den sie 2007 als erste deutsche Band überhaupt überreicht bekamen.
Für ihren Erfolg arbeiten die Jungs schon seit ihrer Kindheit, mit elf Jahren wurde die erste Band gegründet. Mittlerweile füllen sie Konzertsäle zwischen New Jersey und Las Vegas, ihre Songs erklimmen die Charts in Kanada, Frankreich, Polen und Russland. Sogar im Nahen Osten kann die Band Erfolge verbuchen: Israelische Fans bettelten so lange, bis Tokio Hotel ein Konzert in Tel Aviv gaben. Angeblich ist es den Musikern sogar zu verdanken, dass rund um den Globus wieder mehr deutsch gepaukt wird – schließlich wollen die Fans bei Konzerten die Texte mitsingen.

Tom Kaulitz met Jack White
Or at least Jack White and Tom Kaulitz, they met in Las Vegas and the young Kaulitz expressed his admiration for the guitar player from Detroit. Tom Kaulitz always admired Jack White and the White stripes, and ones of his favorites songs is “Seven nation army” and one of the first he was able to play in his guitar when he was learning as a child.
Both expressed their intention of doing something together someday… maybe this day is not that far?
Jack White´s last colaboration has been in the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace soundtrack, with Alicia Keys and the song “Another way to die”.

Blinddarm - OP
Die Wochen um den Jahreswechsel sind die klassische Urlaubszeit bei Tokio Hotel. Bill und Tom Kaulitz tauchten wie 2007 auf den Malediven im Indischen Ozean ab. Schlagzeuger Gustav Schäfer mag es da traditionell etwas familiärer und blieb wie in den Vorjahren über Weihnachten und Silvester daheim in Magdeburg.
Glück gehabt! Wie Bild berichtet, wurde Gustav letzten Freitag, nur einen Tag nach Neujahr, mit Verdacht auf Blinddarm-Durchbruch ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert und sofort operiert.

Not OP bei Gustav von Tokio Hotel
Mit Verdacht auf Blinddarm- Durchbruch wurde Gustav ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert - er musste sofort operiert werden! Wie geht es dem ihm jetzt?

"Am 2. Januar ist Gustav morgens mit extremen Bauchschmerzen aufgestanden“, berichtet TH-Manager David Jost gegenüber der "Bild"-Zeitung. Im Laufe des Tages seien die Schmerzen dann immer schlimmer geworden.
In der Magdeburger Universitätsklinik ließ sich Gustav untersuchen - und dann ging alles ganz schnell! Dem Schlagzeuger musste sofort der Blinddarm entfernt werden. "Die OP hat genau eine Stunde gedauert und ist gut verlaufen", so Jost.
Inzwischen durfte Gustav die Klinik wieder verlassen, aber in den nächsten zwei Wochen muss er sich schonen. Gute Besserung!

What happened? "On 2 January Gustav woke up with a terrible stumach ache", manager David Jost tells to Bild. "During the day the pain only became worst."
The teen idol was brought to the Magdeburger University clinic. Doctors suspected an infection of the appendix!
After doing some little tests Gustav got full anaesthetics. During the operation the doctors took care of the heavinly infected appendix of the Tokio Hotel star.
Manager David Jost: "The operation took exactly one hour and went well."
Already on monday Gustav was allowed to leave the clinic. He needs two weeks of rest.

Die Show soll 2009 in die Hauptstadt kommen. Es ist eines der Größten Musikspektakel der Welt und in diesem Jahr will der Musiksender MTV seine Awards in Berlin vergeben.
Tokio Hotel sollen die Megashow eröffnen.
Klaus Wowereit holt MTV-Awards nach Berlin, er setzte sich für den Austragungsort ein. 1994 fanden in Berlin die ersten European Music Awards statt. 2500 Gäste und 240 Millionen T-Zuschauer verfolgten damals das Musikspektakel.

Skandale, Hits und mehr - die Musikhighlights 2008
Erfolge non-stop hagelte es 2008 dagegen für Tokio Hotel. Und das auch noch international - in keinem geringeren Land als den USA. Die Amis ließen sich nicht lumpen und machten den deutschen Fans in Sachen Kreisch-Alarm tüchtig Konkurrenz. Oben drauf gab’s noch einen Video Music Award sowie einen Europe Music Award. Gut gemacht!

Mann begrapscht Mädchen auf Tokio-Hotel-Konzert

Zwischen Bühne und Publikum stehend hat ein Deutscher in Frankreich bei einem Konzert der Band Tokio Hotel mehrere weibliche Fans sexuell belästigt. Jetzt wurde der 35-Jährige von einem Gericht für seinen Taten verurteilt. Außerdem wird er in die Datenbank für Sexualstraftäter aufgenommen.
In Frankreich ist ein Deutscher zu 15 Monaten Gefängnis verurteilt worden, weil er bei einem Konzert von Tokio Hotel mehrere Mädchen sexuell belästigt hat. Wie die Justiz mitteilte, ordnete das Straßburger Strafgericht zudem an, den 35-Jährigen in die französischen Datenbank für Sexualstraftäter aufzunehmen. Er hatte sich während des Konzerts im März in Straßburg im Graben zwischen Bühne und Publikum aufgehalten und sieben Mädchen begrapscht.
Nach Informationen der Zeitung „Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace“ wurde der Mann bereits in Deutschland zu 18 Monaten auf Bewährung verurteilt, weil er sich an einem elfjährigen Mädchen vergangen hatte. Er wurde einige Tage nach dem Tokio-Hotel-Konzert anhand von Fotos identifiziert und festgenommen. Der Mann hatte die Vorwürfe in dem Prozess zurückgewiesen.

Anfang Dezember stand unsere Top 5 fest: Tokio Hotel, Dietmar Hopp, Bushido, Stefan Raab und Helmut Schmidt.
