Klar, dass die Tokio Hotel-Jungs es auf der Aftershow-Party richtig krachen ließen. Bis sechs Uhr morgens feierten sie ihren Mega-Triumph! „Ich bin so froh, mich endlich wieder mit jedem auf Deutsch unterhalten zu können“, sagte Bill Kaulitz (18), „unser Englisch ist so wahnsinnig schlecht, unglaublich.“
Für die Comet-Verleihung hatten sich Bill sowie sein Bruder Tom (18) und die Bandmitglieder Georg (19) und Gustav (21) ihre umjubelte Tour durch die USA und Kanada unterbrochen. In Übersee hatten sie sich mit ihrem Schulenglisch „durchgeschlagen, richtig toll war das aber nicht“. Viel toller war da schon, dass geich vier Bodyguards für die Kaulitz-Brüder die Toilette von „Fremdpinklern“ räumten und mit ihren breiten Schultern die Tür blockierten. Selbst „Superstar“ Mark Medlock (29) und Sänger Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (16) mussten artig mit dem Pipimachen warten. Bitter für Bill: Auf der Party verlor er seinen Diamantring.

Until six o’clock in the morning they celebrated their mega-triumph! “I’m so happy that I can talk finally with somebody in German,” Bill Kaulitz (18) said, “our English is so incredibly bad.”
Bill and his brother Tom (18) and the bandmembers Georg (21) and Gustav (19) have interrupted their celebrated tour in the US and Canada. Overseas they tried to talk with their school English , “but it wasn’t that fantastic.”
It was more fantastic, that even four bodyguards cleared the toilets for the Kaulitz-brothers from “foreign-pee-guys” and blocked the doors with their big shoulders.
Even “superstar” Mark Medlock (29) and singer Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht (16) had to wait well-behaved with peeing.

Bei der Comet-Verleihung am Freitag sahnte die Magdeburger Band gleich vier Preise ab, gefeiert wurde bis in den frühen Morgen. Gezecht und gepafft auch . . .
BILD am SONNTAG fragte Bill gestern Mittag, ob er weiß, dass er mit der Qualmerei seine Musikkarriere gefährdet?
Antwort von Bill Kaulitz: „Die Wundheilung an den Stimmbändern ist komplett abgeschlossen, trotzdem rauche ich nur ganz selten. Ich achte total auf meine Stimme, aber nach den ganzen stressigen Wochen wollte ich mich gestern an diesem geilen Abend richtig gehen lassen.“
Eine Einstellung, die Mediziner für riskant und verantwortungslos halten. Professor Ralph Mösges, HNO-Arzt der Uni-Klinik Köln, zu BamS: „Nach einer Operation reagieren die Stimmbänder noch wochenlang sehr empfindlich auf Reize. Speziell dann, wenn ein Stimmbandpolyp abgetragen wurde wie bei Bill.

BILD am SONNTAG asked Bill yesterday afternoon if he knows that smoking can endanger his music career.
Bill Kaulitz answers: “The healing of the wounds on the vocal cords is completely over, but I still smoke very little. I totally take care of my voice, but after the whole stressful weeks, I just really wanted to let myself go and relax on that awesome evening.”
An attitude that medics see as risky and irresponsible. Professor Ralph Mösges, doctor of the ENT at the Uni-Clinic Cologne tells BamS: “After an operation, the vocal cords still react sensitive to the smallest irritations. Especially when a vocal cord cyst was taken away like by Bill. Even the littlest amount of toxins like nicotine can do a lot of damage during the recovery phase.”

The guys of Tokio hotel had a reason to celebrate yesterday: Tom [18], his brother Bill [18], Gustav [19] and Georg [21] cleared up with 4 of the most desired “Comet” trophies! After the ceremony the band really let it blast.
Their quadruple victory was celebrated with alcohol and cigarettes – even Bill grabbed a smoke and a long drink. An unusual sight, since his twin brother Tom was always known as the “Bad Boy”, as he said so himself after a drug search in New York. Tom assumes that especially his dreadlocks hairstyle gives him that image.
Admittedly, Bill looks more innocent than Tom – especially after smoothing his wild mane Appearances are often deceiving., as you see…

Eben noch auf Siegeszug in den Staaten, jetzt in Oberhausen – zur großen „Comet“-Verleihung kam Tokio-Bill mit ungewöhnlich glatter Mähne. Der Begeisterung seiner Fans tat's keinen Abbruch.
Auf die vier Jungs von Tokio Hotel ging ein regelrechter „Cometen“-Schauer nieder: Sie nahmen gleich vier der acht Preise mit nach Hause. Die Viva-Zuschauer hatten sie unter anderem zur besten Band und zum besten Liveact gewählt. Die Kugel für den besten Künstler ging an Skandalrapper Bushido. Die nominierten Künstler selbst zeichneten Herbert Grönemeyer als ihren „Star der Stars“ aus.
La Fee, Udo Lindenberg, Bushido – auf dem roten Teppich vor der Arena in Oberhausen drängelte sich das Who-is-who der deutschen Musik-Szene.
Der „Comet 2008“ wird seit 13 Jahren an deutsche Musiker verliehen.
„Bei unserer Plattenfirma in Berlin kamen in den letzten Wochen sehr viele Briefe von deutschen Fans an, die sich gewünscht haben, dass wir nach Oberhausen zum ,Comet' kommen. Wir werden da sein, versprochen“, hatte Bill im Vorfeld der Verleihung BILD.de verraten.

The four boys practically had a “Comet” shower over them: They took four of the eight prizes home. The Viva viewers chose them amongst other categories for “Best band” and “Best live act”. The ball for the “Best artist” went to scandal rapper Bushido. The nominated stars themselves awarded Herbert Grönemeyer as their “Star of stars”.
La Fee, Udo Lindenberg and Bushido - The who-is-who of the music scene mingled their way through on the red carpet in front of the arena in Oberhausen.

Tom(18) von „Tokio Hotel“ wurde während der US-Tour eine Stunde auf dem Airport in New York festgehalten und nach Drogen durchsucht.
Sein Bruder Bill (18) und Gustav (19) und Georg (21) werden immer durchgewunken.
Tom: „Ich glaube, die haben es wegen meiner Dreadlocks auf mich abgesehen, die man anscheinend gleich mit Drogen verbindet.“
Statt Verbotenem fanden die Fahnder in seinen Koffern u. a. 20 Baseballcaps und jede Menge Kondome.

German Band Tokio Hotel a hit in two languages
Growing in popularity, German rock band Tokio Hotel is new to North American fans but all the rage back home.
So when the foursome decided to break into the difficult North American market with its English debut album Scream, the group translated and then performed all of its German songs in English, something that took some time but was worth the work.
“The biggest challenge was to sing for the first time in English because as you can tell my English is not so good,” singer Bill Kaulitz says inside a Toronto restaurant. “This is really the first trip that we’ve spoken English in interviews because we just know some words.”
Tokio Hotel, playing the Sound Academy tonight, says translating each song “word by word” was trying.
“I’m a perfectionist, I really wanted to sound natural like I was a native speaker,” he says. “That was really, really hard but I hope the fans like it.”
“And then they (the words) have to rhyme and still have the same meaning,” twin brother and guitarist Tom Kaulitz adds. “We wanted everyone to have a chance to understand what we are saying which was really important.”
The band, rounded out by drummer Gustav Schafer and bassist Georg Listing, has made a lot of inroads in a short period of time with singles such as Monsoon and Don’t Jump, which deals with suicide, a topic mentioned in some of the fan letters the band received from teens.
But both brothers say the single Ready Set Go! describes how the band members, who got together in 2001, found success at the mere age of 15.
“It was our first single in Germany and it was during our vacation in the summer holidays,” Bill says. “It went directly to Number One and after that our whole life changed completely. It was a new life and that was our dream, our dream come true.”
The resulting success caused a frenzy that some concert promoters in Germany weren’t quite prepared for.
“We were playing a village party, a small festival and there were only 100 or 200 people expected,” Tom Kaulitz says. “It was booked six months in advance and we released our first single Monsoon in Germany and we came to that festival.”
“There were so many fans and thousands of people, the security was absolutely not ready for that,” Bill says. “It was then we knew we had fans. Before it was always five or 10 people in a club just drinking beer and not looking at us.”
The toughest thing a new band often has to do is learn how to say no to growing demands. A grueling touring schedule earlier this year left Bill Kaulitz unable to speak for 10 days following surgery to remove a cyst from a vocal chord.
“I was really afraid,” he says. “We only played 10 concerts and had to cancel 16 (including a Toronto gig). I was in my hotel room and I looked (at the clock) and I was thinking at this time normally I’m on stage so it was really, really hard.”
However, like so many identical twins, Bill had Tom nearby to act as his almost telepathic speaker.
“It’s a very cool connection and a very special connection,” Bill says of being a twin. “I think nobody else has a connection like that. I had a book and wrote things down (after surgery) but there were some things where I just looked at Tom.”
“I always know what Bill is thinking in different situations because I think the same,” Tom says without missing a beat. “I had to speak for him for 10 days, it wasn’t a great time.”

Wie die Stiftung Bürger für Leipzig mitteilte, spendete die Band 20 000 Euro. 8000 Euro sollen in diesem und im kommenden Jahr in das Projekt „Musik macht schlau“ fließen. Dadurch können mindestens 20 Kinder ein Jahr lang ein Instrument erlernen. Die restlichen 12 000 Euro gingen als Einlage in den Vermögensstock der Leipziger Einrichtung

Schon erstaunlich, was unser heißester Musik-Exportartikel für verheerende Wirkungen auch in Amerika zeitigt.
Der Erfolgsbericht der Kaulitzer liest sich wie die Anleitung aus einem Lehrbuch. Zunächst spiele man einige kleinere Gigs vor ausverkauften Häusern wie dem Fillmore in New York, wo schon Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin und Frank Zappa auftraten. So geschehen im Februar, was der New York Times immerhin eine üppig bebilderte Geschichte auf der ersten Seite ihres Feuilletons wert war.
Dann trete man beim US-Musiksender MTV auf, wo sie am 6. Mai ihr englisches Album "Scream" promoteten. Worauf es am Times Square beim Signieren von CDs zu einem gewaltigen Auflauf kreischender Fans kam.
Drittens gebe man eine Vorstellung in einer großen Late Night Show. Das erfüllten Tokio Hotel in der Nacht auf letzten Samstag bei Conan O'Brien, der bei jüngeren Amerikanern ein Aushängeschild für witzige Unterhaltung ist. Sie performten ihren Erfolgshit "Ready, Set, Go!", und schon scheint der Erfolgsweg geebnet.
Nicht einmal die Sprachbarriere entpuppt sich als echtes Hindernis, obwohl Sänger Bill das Englisch bekanntermaßen nicht gerade in die Wiege gelegt worden ist.
Um seinen englischen Gesang zu ertragen, müsse man "echt schmerzfrei sein" ätzte Bruder Tom, während der angesehene Rolling Stone milde urteilte, Bills "seltsame Aussprache" mache Tokio Hotels Musik nur noch charmanter. Schon mit ihrem Fernsehauftritt schafften sie eine deutsche Premiere. Der US-Markt ist äußerst schwierig für Ausländer, selbst der Engländer Robbie Williams wird in Amerika komplett ignoriert, ähnlich wie die Australierin Kylie Minogue, die mit ihrem neuesten Album nicht einmal die Top 100 der Charts erreichte.
Aus Deutschland landete gerade mal Nena mit "99 Luftballons" einen Hit. Die Scorpions segelten mit "Wind of Change" in die Top-10, Rammstein schafften einige Achtungserfolge. Den großen Durchbruch schaffte bisher aber noch kein Deutscher.
Außer Tokio Hotel? Universal-Chef Briegmann sagte gegenüber der FAZ: "Nach den ersten Prognosen werden wir in die Top 50 der Billboard-Charts einsteigen." Und wenn Amerika erst mal erobert wurde, dann soll es noch viel weiter gehen. Schon nächstes Jahr will sich Briegmann Asien und Südamerika vornehmen.

Followed by a performance on the great Late Night Show. That’s what the boys did last Saturday night at Conan O’Brien, which in America is the place to be for hilarious moments. They performed their success hit: Ready, Set, Go, and straightened the road to great success.
Only the language barrier has turned out as a little obstacle, while singer Bill hasn’t really got the natural talent for English.
“To really bear his English singing you really have to be carefree,” tells brother Tom, after the Rolling Stone’s gentle judgement, Bill’s extraordinary pronunciation only makes Tokio Hotel more charming. Now, with their TV performance they have a German premiere. The US market is really hard for foreign artists, even the English artist Robbie Williams was completely ignored in America, same goes for Australian Kylie Minogue, that didn’t even make it into the top 100 of the charts with her new album.
From Germany Nena had a hit with “99 luftballons”. The Scorpions had a top 10 hit with “wind of charge”, Rammstein had some little success.
But no German has ever made the big break.
Outside Tokio Hotel? Universal chief Briegmann tells to FAZ: “As it looks now we are gonna enter in the top 50 Billboard charts.” And once America is conquered it will go much further. Next year Briegmann wanna take over Asia and South America.

Erst New York und jetzt Los Angeles! Seit Tokio Hotel in den USA ihre Platte „Scream“ (die englischsprachige Version von „Schrei“) promoten, flippen ihre Fans völlig aus. In Scharen warteten sie vor dem „Avalon Club“ in Hollywood, in dem Tokio Hotel ein Konzert geben werden.
Schon zum Soundcheck kamen die Jungs total aufgestylt. Bill in grüner Lederjacke, Toten-Kopf-Shirt, Haare hoch. Sein Bruder Tom im lässigen Skater-Look.
Abends auf der Bühne dann: Party total! Die Kaulitz-Zwillinge rockten den Club. Ihre weiblichen Fans kriegten sich vor Gekreische gar nicht mehr ein. Danach hieß es: Autogramme schreiben, Autogramme schreiben. Und feiern.
Sogar „Pussycat Doll“ Nicole Scherzinger schaute vorbei. Wow!

Hätten Sie auf diesem Foto Rockstar Bill Kaulitz (18) erkannt? Der sonst so glamouröse Sänger der Band „Tokio Hotel“ schlendert völlig ungeschminkt und in normalen Straßen-Klamotten durch den New Yorker Stadtteil SoHo. Mit dabei sind sein Bruder Tom (18) und ihr Produzent und Manager David Jost.
Tokio Hotel sind derzeit auf einer Promotion-Reise durch Amerika, um dort ihr Englisch gesungenes Album „Scream“ („Schrei“) zu bewerben. Bei diversen Auftritten wurden die vier deutschen Jungs schon euphorisch gefeiert, die Platte steht derzeit auf Platz 13 der amerikanischen iTunes-Charts. Tendenz steigend.
Der berühmte „Times Square“ in New York ist mit riesigen Plakaten der Band zugepflastert, ihre Musik läuft beim TV-Musik-Kanal „MTV“ rauf und runter.

Bill had to take a forced break because of his vocal cord surgery for five weeks. Almost all sold out concerts had to be cancelled. Nevertheless, the success of the band in the USA is unstoppable.
Bill’s twinbrother Tom Kaulitz to BILD: “I’m so happy about the fan-rush here. And that we were already at the second release-day at place 13 of the American iTunes-charts, thrilled me completely. Tokio Hotel Hope To Expand Already-Rabid Fanbase To Make It Big In The U.S.
‘We are so excited we have fans here at all,’ says Bill Kaulitz, frontman for the German pop-rockers.

According to their (rather rabid) fanbase, Tokio Hotel are: A) “Certainly the most interesting up-and-coming music act in recent years”; B) “The cutest Germans I’ve ever seen”; C) “F—ing amazing. … They showed me that music doesn’t have to be complex and full of technicalities for it to eat my f—ing heart alive”; D) “An amazingly talented group of young guys. And the twins are amazingly hot!”; or E) “sooooooooo HOTT!”
That’s pretty hot(t). Of course, that enthusiasm is not shared by the other 98.9 percent of the planet, who probably only know Tokio Hotel as “that German band with the weird lead-singer chick” (if they know them at all).
And therein lies the problem — or, more specifically, the challenge — facing Germany’s hottest pansexual pop-rockers: They are massively popular in their homeland (not to mention pretty much everywhere else in Europe), having sold more than 5 million albums, singles and DVDs in just more than three years, and they lord over a dedicated online army. Yet here in the States, they probably couldn’t get arrested, unless frontman (yeah, he’s a dude) Bill Kaulitz’s epically spiked mane violates some sort of zoning laws or something.
In short, Tokio Hotel have a legitimate shot at being the biggest rock act on the planet. All that’s standing in their way are the amber waves of grain and purple mountains majesty of the United States.
“It’s really hard to get fans in another country, especially here, because America is so, so big, so it’s really hard to get known in this country,” Kaulitz said in a heavy accent. “We are so excited we have fans here at all. In America, we see a fan and it is like, ‘Oh, we are proud! We have a fan in America!’ ”
So with the hopes of increasing that fanbase here in the States, Tokio Hotel — including Kaulitz and his brother Tom on guitars, bassist Georg Listing and drummer Gustav Schäfer — have just released their first English-language album, Scream, which features re-recorded versions of tracks from their first-two German efforts, Schrei and Zimmer 483. Distributed here by Cherrytree (an Interscope imprint), the album is chock-full of crunchy riffs and self-flagellating lyrics, a cash cow clearly aimed at the Hot Topic set and their chain wallets.
And if it manages to score big, well, then the guys in Tokio Hotel will know that their hard work has paid off. After all, getting to be the biggest band on the planet isn’t easy.
“We had some help with [this album], because our English is not so good. For me, it was pretty hard to go into the studio and sing English for the first time, because I always sung in German, and we’ve been making music for seven years and it’s always been in German,” Kaulitz laughed. “So that took some time, and hopefully the fans will like it. It’s really important to us that everyone can understand our lyrics, so we said we’d try it. But also, the fans in America want to hear German songs … and last time we played here, we did two German songs [and] they sang the songs with us.”
Ah, yes, their fans here in America. They’re a small — but loyal (and vocal) — bunch, turning Times Square into a squealing mess Tuesday when the band appeared on “TRL” and packing Hollywood’s vaunted Roxy earlier this year for Tokio Hotel’s first U.S. show. Clearly, the seeds have been planted. And now, everyone involved with the band is hoping they’ll come into bloom.
“We expect great live shows here. We’ve played a few times here, and it was great. So now we want to play a tour,” Kaulitz said. “So we might come back and play a tour. I don’t know. We are going back to Europe to start writing a new record, and then we’ll do it in English. And then we want to come back.”

Forget the New Kids on the Block reunion. Millions of teenage girls are freaking out over the hottest new boy band, Tokio Hotel. Of course, you’re forgiven if you’ve never heard of this four-piece German outfit, who’ve earned a U.S. fan base in the last few years thanks to concert clips available on YouTube. So when the band came to play its first American shows in February, fans lined up hours beforehand to catch a set of energetic, glammy emo-pop songs, many of which are on its English-language debut, “Scream.”
Tokio Hotel’s first record was performed in German, so it’s likely that English-speaking fans were more taken with the band members’ divergent physical appearances. Frontman Bill Kaulitz looks like a cross between a Japanese anime cartoon and Nikki Sixx; guitarist Tom Kaulitz (Bill’s twin brother) sports Axl Rose-style dreadlocks; drummer Gustav Schaefer resembles Spencer Pratt from MTV’s “The Hills”; bassist Georg Listing, strangely enough, could pass for Steely Dan’s Walter Becker in the ’70s.
But what about the music? For what it is — slickly produced, thoroughly modern rock songs with calm verses and seize-the-day choruses — it’s not terrible. Title track “Scream” is powered by crunchy guitar riffs, arena-ready beats and Bill Kaulitz’s adenoidal croon, while “Don’t Jump” is the kind of soaring, string-laden ballad that could work on the soundtrack to a big-budget action movie.
As a hyper-sensitive young man, Bill Kaulitz writes lyrics that often address breaking away from some vague apocalyptic nightmare, and he typically wants to take a special someone along for the journey. No doubt one of his female fans would accept the invitation. But, as is the ephemeral nature of the boy band, you have to wonder: Would she say yes five years from now?

(I am happy not seeing the – hedgehod – I put my finger in a socket hairdo). Seems really cool, the boy. I can’t see the darkened eyes, finally a human look. I really like it.
After taking a better look and comparing the photos from stage Bill and Private Bill I wonder: Does Bill wear a wig when he is on stage? Yes, yes, I know, it’s a hairdo from Magdeburg and so, flick up, colouring and ready is the Kill-Bill, but I am kinda insecure. Admitted, he is wearing it down, that’s clear.
But beneath that base cap it doesn’t look like that big do – “Tokio Hotel” is moving on in New York, working there way down the list. Today a interview with Rolling Stone magazine, tomorrow the late night show “Conan O’Brien”, and Sunday a flight to L.A., on the 13th a concert in “Avalon” in Hollywood, on the 14th on to Canada, Toronto, Montreal. The first German concert since the surgery of Bill will be on the 13th of June in Westfallenhalle.
Update on Bill’s vocal condition: “Pleasant again, nevertheless, we are still closely watching it, that Bill will take his rest”, writes Jost to me.

We knew they were huge overseas - but with no album out in the US, we were a little hesitant. But something told us to take the chance - and we did! The rest…lives in Roxy history. A sold out show…a line down the block…fanatic fans from all over the world…and a few new fans too To this day, we still remember the Tokio Hotel madness with nothing but good thoughts. We know we hold a special spot in their hearts too! As the Roxy crew gathered around to check out the final version of the album, we were floored when we opened the album to see pictures taken in our very own backstage - and even more exciting was when we took the CD out of the case only to see our very own Roxy artwork. The new album hits stores today - and as the site of their first US show, we hope their 1st US release breaks records!

Die VJane hatte alle Hände voll zu tun, die kreischenden Fans von der Bühne fernzuhalten. Bill und Co. ließen sich davon natürlich nicht aus der Ruhe bringen und zogen ihre Show professionell durch.

Tokio Hotel take over Time Square

We like to think of ourselves as a mini United Nations here, so we were delighted when the nice young Germans of Tokio Hotel stopped by the office today, hair and all.
We were pretty shocked Tom would make the undiplomatic move of wearing a Red Sox hat here in Yankee town [Ed: WTF??], but the be-dreaded guitarist assured me he was “so pretty” people can’t really get mad at him. Sorry, Tom, they so can. Fortunately for him, there’s usually a pack of screaming 14-year-old girls (and one burly bodyguard) surrounding you at all times.
Anyway, the band’s English language album Scream drops here tomorrow — it’s already out in Europe, which is why so many shrieking American tweens have all the lyrics memorized. Anime porcupine/frontboy Bill said it was pretty weird recording songs in English that he was used to singing in German. His favorite track to do live off the album is title song, while twin Tom favors “Read, Set, Go!” But don’t worry — they agree on, like, everything else!

Vier Wochen lang durfte Sänger Bill Kaulitz kein Wort sprechen – und "Tokio Hotel" konnte keine Konzerte mehr geben, die Deutschlandtour wurde abgesagt. Jetzt feierten die jungen Magdeburger ihr Mini-Comeback: bei einem Festival in New Jersey. Vor ihnen spielte Snoop Dogg.

Wegen der immer noch verschriebenen Stimmband-Schonung spielten „Tokio Hotel“ nur drei Songs. „4000 Fans standen vor der Bühne und konnten jeden Song auswendig mitsingen“, sagt Band-Manager David Jost. Und das, obwohl das US-Album noch nicht einmal veröffentlicht sei. „Bill wirkte ziemlich ungeduldig und angespannt vor dem Auftritt, aber als er auf der Bühne stand, war alle Aufregung vergessen“, beschreibt Jost den ersten Auftritt. Bei dem Festival in New Jersey traten schon Größen wie die Rolling Stones, Prince und Nirvana auf. Nun stand vor den Magdeburgern der amerikanische Rapper Snoop Dogg auf der Bühne. A Cyst had to be removed from his left vocal cord, and after the operation there was strict silence for him, because his voice had to be trained carefully.
A full month without Bill! For the fans of Tokio Hotel this situation grew to a nightmare.
“I thought: Oh god! Hopefully nobody takes me that amiss,” Bill commented the situation, “and hopefully nobody was angry.” For many haters it was more like a holiday for the ears. Tokio Hotel polarizes like no other band.
At Saturday night now the Magdeburger stood with his three bandmates – twinbrother Tom Kaulitz (18), Gustav Schäfer (19) and Georg Listing (21) – on stage in New Jersey. At the “Bamboozle-festival” – the first performance after the operation.
Because of the still prescribed vocal cord-rest Tokio Hotel only played three songs.
“4000 fans stood in front of the stage and could sing every song along by heart,” band-manager David Jost says. And that, though the US-album isn’t released yet.
“Bill seemed to be pretty impatient and tensed up before the performance, but when he stood on stage, all the excitement was forgotten,” Jost describes the first performance.
At the festival in New Jersey performed already celebs like the Rolling Stones, Prince and Nirvana. Now the American rapper Snoop Dogg stood on stage before the Magdeburger. A full blood musician, who looked at the German newcomers with interest for sure. But the quartet has to get used to that fast.
Already at Thursday the four boys will be in the Late Night Show of Conan O’Brien, and at May 13th they will perform their only complete concert in the US at the Avalon in Hollywood.
“Bill has turned the hearts of the New Yorker again to the left,” manager Jost believes.

Knapp fünf Wochen nach seiner Stimmband-OP trat Rockstar Bill Kaulitz (18) mit seiner Band „Tokio Hotel“ erstmals wieder vor sein Publikum.
Bei einem Open-Air-Festival am berühmten „Giants Stadium“ vor den Toren New Yorks (USA) sang er mit seinen Jungs vor 4000 Fans drei seiner Hits auf Englisch. Bills Stimme – kraftvoll und energiegeladen wie nie zuvor!
Manager und Produzent David Jost: „Bill war ziemlich nervös und konnte es kaum erwarten, endlich auf die Bühne zu stürmen.“

Knapp fünf Wochen nach seiner Stimmband-OP trat Rockstar Bill Kaulitz (18) mit seiner Band „Tokio Hotel“ erstmals wieder vor sein Publikum.
Bei einem Open-Air-Festival am berühmten „Giants Stadium“ vor den Toren New Yorks (USA) sang er mit seinen Jungs vor 4000 Fans drei seiner Hits auf Englisch. Bills Stimme – kraftvoll und energiegeladen wie nie zuvor!
Manager und Produzent David Jost: „Bill war ziemlich nervös und konnte es kaum erwarten, endlich auf die Bühne zu stürmen.“

„Die letzten Wochen nach der OP kamen Bill endlos vor. Es war wie eine Erlösung für ihn, endlich wieder auf der Bühne zu stehen“, sagt Band-Manager David Jost zur B.Z.. „Bill hat die New Yorker Herzen auf links gedreht“, so Jost.
Vor allem die seiner weiblichen amerikanischen Fans. Stolz präsentieren die in Internet-Foren Unterarme mit Autogrammen. Einige lernten extra Deutsch, um die Lieder der vier „Tokio Hotel“-Jungs mitsingen zu können.
Dabei sangen Bill, Tom, Gustav und Georg sogar Lieder auf englisch (1. „Ready set go – Übers Ende der Welt“, 2. „Break away – Ich brech aus“, 3. „Monsoon“). Und die rund 4000 Fans konnten alle Songs auswenig mitsingen, obwohl die „Tokio Hotel“-CD noch nicht mal in den USA veröffentlich ist.
Ein Mega-Erfolg für die vier Jungs, die am 13. Juni auch endlich wieder in Deutschland spielen werden. In der ausverkauften Dortmunder Westfalenhalle. Vor schreienden Fans – die dann auch endlich wieder sie selbst sein können…

Bus Stop destroyed
Eine Gruppe von 30 Jugendlichen zerstörten die berühmte Bushaltestelle vor dem Kaulitz Haus in Loitsche gestern.
Das war der Platz an dem die Zwillinge normalerweise jeden Tag auf ihren Schulbus warteten und natürlich wurde daraus eine Art Pilgerstätte für die Fans. Die Polzei versucht nun herauszufinden wer diese Kids waren.
"A group of 30 unknown teenagers destroyed the famous bus stop in front of the Kaulitz house in Loitsche yesterday.
That was the place the twins used to wait for their bus to school every day, and of course it became some sort of pilgrimage place for fans.
Police is currently trying to find out who those kids were.

Heute spielen Bill (18), Tom (18), Gustav (19) und Georg (21) von „Tokio Hotel“ in der US-Metropole drei Songs auf einem Festival – und alle ihre Fans sind unglaublich erleichtert.
Denn es ist das erste Konzert der Band seit der Kehlkopf-OP von Sänger Bill vor rund einem Monat.
„Die Diagnose war ein Schock“, erzählt der Sänger. „Ich hatte Angst, dass ich nie wieder sprechen könnte.“
Nach der OP durfte er zehn Tage nicht reden, lachen oder sich räuspern: „Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich das schaffe. Aber die Angst um meine Stimme war zu groß.“
Als Bill wieder sprechen durfte, kam ihm seine Stimme erst mal unvertraut vor. „Es klang komisch, irgendwie fremd. Aber nach ein paar Tagen war das vorbei.“
Wird er je wieder ganz ohne Angst singen können?
Bill: „Ich werde diese Erfahrung nie vergessen und wohl nie ganz ohne Sorgen sein. Aber ich hab’s überstanden und hoffe, dass es nie wieder passiert

Ein Monat ist seit der Operation an Bills Stimmbändern vergangen und alles ist gut verlaufen. Bills Stimme klingt wie früher und morgen treten die Magdeburger auf dem Bamboozle-Festival in der Nähe von New York auf!
Auf bild.de erzählte Bill, dass die Diagnose ein Schock war und er Angst hatte, nie wieder sprechen zu können. Auch die Zeit nach der OP, in der er weder reden, noch lachen oder sich räuspern durfte, nagte an ihm: "Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich das schaffe. Aber die Angst um meine Stimme war zu groß."
Schließlich ist alles gut gelaufen. Es dauerte ein paar Tage nach der Aufhebung des Sprechverbots bis er sich wieder an seine eigene Stimme gewöhnen konnte. Diese Erfahrung werde er nie vergessen und wohl auch nie ganz ohne Sorgen sein.
