Hamburg – Es ist das Schlimmste, was einem Sänger widerfahren kann.

„Tokio Hotel“-Sänger Bill Kaulitz (18) muss wegen einer Verdickung der Stimmbänder am Kehlkopf operiert werden.

Er bekam Sing-Verbot, alle Konzerte wurden abgesagt (BILD berichtete). Für den Rockstar eine Katastrophe.

WIE KONNTE ES NUR ZU DER ERKRANKUNG KOMMEN?

Seit seinem 11. Lebensjahr schon röhrt Bill auf der Bühne Rocksongs, verlangt seiner Stimme alles ab. Allein im vergangenen Jahr absolvierte er 43 Konzerte, gönnte sich kaum eine Pause.

„Nicht jeder ist geeignet, seine Stimme im Übermaß zu belasten“, sagt der Kölner HNO-Arzt Dr. Thomas Disselbeck (50). „Je weniger jemand gesanglich ausgebildet ist, desto leichter besteht eine Neigung zur Entstehung von Stimmband-Knötchen. Auch zu starke Intensität beim Singen, hohe Lautstärke und Häufigkeit können eine Erkrankung der Stimmbänder begünstigen.“

HAT BILL SEINE STIMME KAPUTT GESUNGEN?

Bill hatte bereits sehr früh Logopädie-Stunden und macht seit über drei Jahren vor jedem Auftritt mindestens ein halbe Stunde Stimmübungen“, sagt „Tokio Hotel“-Produzent und Manager David Jost. „Aber auf den Konzerten selbst will er immer alles an Emotionen rauslassen und muss aufpassen, seine Stimmbänder nicht zu sehr zu beanspruchen.“

Bill ist nicht der erste Rockstar, der mit Stimmbandproblemen zu kämpfen hat. Auch Justin Timberlake (27) musste sich 2005 einer Operation wegen Knoten auf den Stimmbändern unterziehen, durfte danach über Wochen nicht singen und sprechen.

Die 125 000 Karten-Käufer der abgesagten Europa-Konzerte reagierten entsetzt auf die Nachricht von Bills anstehender Operation.

Nach Absage des Konzertes in Dortmund lösten mehr als 100 enttäuschte Fans ihr seit einer Woche bestehendes Lager in der Westfalenhalle auf.

Eine Sprecherin der Stadt: „Es gab Trauer und viele Tränen, aber alle sind friedlich abgezogen.“

Wie geht es Bill jetzt?
David Jost: „Er liegt im Bett und nimmt Medikamente zur Beruhigung der Stimmbänder. Derzeit können die Ärzte ihn noch nicht operieren, weil er vor ein paar Tagen wegen Kopfschmerzen Aspirin geschluckt hat. Das ist ein blutverdünnendes Medikament und muss im Körper erst abgebaut werden. Es könnte sonst bei der OP zu Komplikationen kommen

How could it get this far?

Since he was 11 Bill has been singing Rock songs on stage, demanding a lot of his voice.
In last year alone he played 43 concerts without giving himself a break.

“Not everyone can just demand so much of his voice”, tells Dr. Thomas Disselbeck (50). “When you sing a lot, you have a big chance of developing this cyst. Also strong intense singing, high notes and frequent singing can result in damage of the vocal cords.”

Did Bill ruin his voice?

“Bill already has vocal therapy for many years and since 3 years he is warming up his voice before a concert for at least 30 minutes,” tells producer and manager David Jost. “But during the concert itself he wants to go with his feeling and let his emotions out, he then has to watch that he doesn’t demand toi much of his voice.”

Bill is not the first Rockstar with problems on his vocal cords. Also Justin Timberlake (27) has had surgery in 2005 for a cyst on his vocal cords and wasn’t allowed to sing or speak after that for weeks.

The 125.000 ticket owners are shocked after hearing the news about Bill’s operation.

After cancelling the concert in Dortmund, more than 100 shocked fans that have been there since more than a week in the Westfalenhalle went home.

An eyewitness tells: “There was much sadness and tears but most of them have made peace with it.”

How is Bill right now?

David Jost: “He is in bed taking medication to keep his vocal cords down. The doctors can’t operate yet because he has taken aspirin in the days before against headaches. This medication has to get out of his blood system first. It can lead to complications otherwise during surgery.”
